Are You Still Eligible for the Autumn COVID-19 Booster?
The NHS is offering the COVID-19 booster from now until 31 January 2026.
This year, fewer people are eligible, so please check before you book.
Who Can Get the Booster
You can get a free NHS booster if you are:
- Aged 75 or over (or will be 75 by 31st January 2026)
- Living in a care home
- Aged 6 months to 74 years and have a weakened immune system because of a health condition or treatment
You can book online, through the NHS App, or by calling 119. You don’t need to wait for an invitation.
Flu and COVID-19 vaccines have different eligibility rules. Make sure you check which ones you can get and stay protected — for you and the people around you.
What’s Changed Since 2024
Fewer people can get the COVID-19 booster in 2025. Here’s a quick comparison:
Group | Autumn 2024 | Autumn 2025 |
Older adults | ✅ 65 and over | ⚠️ 75 and over |
Care home residents | ✅ Eligible | ✅ Eligible |
People with long-term conditions | ✅ Eligible | ❌ Not eligible unless immunosuppressed |
Immunosuppressed people | ✅ Eligible | ✅ Still eligible |
Health and social care workers | ✅ Some included | ❌ Not included |
If you were invited last year and are under 75, you may not be invited this time.
Every year, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) decides who can get which vaccinations.
