Private (Non-NHS) Fees – Patient Information
At The Grove Medical Group most of the care we provide is funded by the NHS. However, some services fall outside of what the NHS covers. These are known as non-contractual (private) services, and a fee applies.
Why do we charge for some services?
The NHS does not fund all types of work that patients or third parties may request from a GP. Examples include insurance reports, letters, and certain medical forms.
When we provide these services:
- They are not part of NHS care
- They take additional GP and administrative time
- They are completed outside of NHS-funded work, often alongside busy clinical duties or in the doctors’ own time.
For these reasons, GP practices are permitted to charge a fee for this work. The fees reflect the time, expertise, and responsibility involved.

- To ensure fairness and consistency, fees will not be waived or reduced
